The ADCA Great Event was fantastic. People came form all over to hear lectures on grass types, animal handling and Devon cattle – and they stayed to see the film ‘American Meat’.
Dr. Temple Grandin was awesome – making us all re-think how we interact with the animals we raise. I recommend her books to people in and out of the livestock industry.
And she took the time to answer everyone’s questions in a long Q&A session after her lecture.
Also a highlight was the arrival of the Nomad Pizza truck.
We roasted a pig – mainly because that’s what we do…
And we gave away prizes. Below is Willson selecting a member of the audience for a travel coffee mug (and why is he not choosing ME!?). Thanks to all the vendors who supported the event and to all the people who participated. And the biggest thanks to the Double Brook staff who made the farm look like we hadn’t had 20″ of rain in the past 10 days.
