August is slowly winding down. Thanks to all the rain we had this month, we actually still have some grass for the animals to feast on and not the usual desert-brown straw. The flerd came back to the homestead this week. Sorry for the small pics, but you get the idea.
Also returned from exile back? The rams. And they are ready to see what’s happening with those ewes.
Once again, the sale is happening next week and we will have a wide selection of meat, eggs and produce as well as some whole pieces of charcuterie for sale.
Don’t forget to stop by on one of these dates:
Tuesday, August 28, 3-7pm
Wednesday, August 29, 3-7pm
Friday, August 31, 10am-2pm
Location is 20 LONG WAY in HOPEWELL
Don’t forget your coolers and reusable bags!
Migrating through the farm right now are some bluebirds. Here they are by the newly-planted hazelnut trees, watching the goings-on of the flerd.
Here enjoying the lazy days of summer is an Ossabaw sow (or is she escaping from one of her many piglets??).
And in a field quite close to her, our Berkshire boar, Oscar, has the same idea.
Ahhhhh…!
Hope to see you next week.
